Research unit Steinzeit / Eiszeit (Stone Age / Ice Age)

The “Steinzeit/Eiszeit” (Stone Age/Ice Age) research unit is studying issues of the Paleolithic and Mesolithic eras in the Electoral Palatinate and inventorying and reattributing the collection holdings of the Reiss-Engelhorn-Museen. This work is intended to make unique areas of the collection known to a larger public. The latest findings are published regularly.

Work is currently focused on the everyday life of people during the last glacial period with the “Eiszeit-Safari” (Ice Age Safari) project.
